Here’s How To Overcome Social Anxiety

 

 

 

Social anxiety is a topic that has been on the rise for some time, and something that most people experience at some point in their lives, if not much more often than that.  Social anxiety is what happens to the brain when you are low on practice and the social centers of your brain aren’t getting enough activity so they start to shut down and it goes into an anti-social mode.  It is also what happens when we experience social traumas, that is, social experiences that do not cause us physical injury, but which the brain still wires in as trauma due to their potentially detrimental nature.  These experiences include harsh rejections, bullying, public humiliations, heart break, and being ostracized from a social group.  Basically being treated like the runt of a litter and having no social standing, or losing what social standing you once had, causes social anxiety.  This is because in ancient times when we lived in small social groups, this was basically a death sentence.  However today these experiences are not, they are simply an emotional hardship that we must sometimes endure.  And it is natural to experience social anxiety in certain times and situations, such as when you are trying to meet new people because your last social circle had been treating you poorly, or towards potential mates if your last one broke your heart.  And instead of going to a psychiatrist and getting prescribed some drug to make you feel better but not actually get better, this can actually be a growth experience that can lead to greater emotional strength, and social skills.

The whole reason I created True Life Development was because I am awake and aware enough to see all of the problems with the world and with human nature, at least with modern man.  The world is failing, and in many ways headed towards an apocalypse because of this.  There are so many of social issues and personal issues we need to correct if we are going to better ourselves as a species and make the world a better place.  This is why I created True Life Development – to help people to better themselves in order to enact widespread social change over time and make the world a better place for us all to live in.

 

But of course widespread social change all comes down to the individual and their own personal development.  If you are not self actualized and living your dream life as your highest self, then you are no good to society.  And since most people are not doing that, but rather are doing the opposite, living in poverty, illness, and degeneration, hence we have widespread social problems in this world.

The Law of Attraction states that you will get what you think about and visualize getting.  However in dating that is not often the case.  You don’t attract who you want, or imagine yourself getting, or think you should get. You attract who you are.  Because as the law of attraction states, “like attracts like”.  And so you shouldn’t be dating unless you have as much or more to offer as you need to receive in a partner.  Because if you are approaching dating from a standpoint of wanting/needing something(s) from someone else due to a feeling of lack from within yourself, and not having much to offer that person, you are not going to attract someone who will fulfill your needs, but rather someone who will similarly be looking for someone to take from in a vicious circle of vampirically using each other and causing a constant energy deficit in both people, like being stuck in an energy vacuum.  This is why so many people end up in partnerships based upon taking from one another that is mutually diminishing rather than mutually fulfilling.  But relationships should be about mutual fulfillment, growth and synergy together, not mutual diminishing each other.  Luckily through The Law Of Attraction you can create that kind of synergy.

My Experience With Nature Vs. Nurture

 

 

I grew up in the country, a very small town on the outskirts of the city of Rochester NY about 40 minutes away from downtown, and 20 minutes away from the nearest grocery store. It had a lot of nature and that was great for many reasons, but it was also very desolate. My mother was very sheltering and isolated me from most other kids I wanted to play with. She was also very oppressive and wanted to indoctrinate me in her own ways and prevent me from associating with anyone she didn’t approve of, and she didn’t approve of most people. This conditioned me with a lot of social anxiety and depression, as well as other social issues. In fact as I would come to find out my mother was a sociopath, and really enjoyed causing psychological issues in me that she could then despair about and blame on things such as the divorce and my father and popular culture, and then force me into therapy that I did not want or need.  For a while I was very unpopular in school, but I was not a stupid kid and was able to figure out what it took to become popular and get in with the popular crowd. However even as a teenager she would not let me hang out with other kids outside of school without first talking to their parents as if I was a child and she needed to arrange “play dates”. Thus I had to become very rebellious and independent and learned to just do what I want and find my own way.

How Wrong is it to be Wrong?

 

Many people are afraid of ever admitting that they are wrong.   They feel like it is wrong to be wrong, and better to just be right all the time.  And even if they are not actually right, they feel it is better to assure others that they are.  This comes from a place of ego and not wanting to admit than you had done something less intelligent than you thought.  However admitting you are wrong and correcting yourself actually seems more intelligent.  And if you look at history, you will see a lot of very large examples of highly intelligent people who did great things but also did great things wrong and should have realized they were wrong sooner when they could have done things greater.

Two weeks ago I sprained my ankle doing parkour, which was very painful, and set me back in my practice of it. It has been a rough experience mentally over these past 2 weeks since doing my parkour workouts has really been a large part of my lifestyle, and my personal identity. I has really made me realize just how much being an athlete is mental as well as physical, which is one of the reasons I chose parkour as my new sport in the first place. But I had not realized just how much emotion played into these things, as sometimes your mind and sense of self esteem is really put to the test in athletics, when facing failure and injury.
