Everyone has wants and needs in life, as well as things they do not want in life. And people want to be able to get what they do want, and not what they do not want. In fact being able to choose to get what you want and not what you don’t want is seen as one of the most fundamental inalienable human rights.
Why? Because that freedom to choose what happens to you goes right along with the fundamentally important human quality that we believe makes us human beings and gives us our humanity. What is that quality?

How Wrong is it to be Wrong?
Many people are afraid of ever admitting that they are wrong. They feel like it is wrong to be wrong, and better to just be right all the time. And even if they are not actually right, they feel it is better to assure others that they are. This comes from a place of ego and not wanting to admit than you had done something less intelligent than you thought. However admitting you are wrong and correcting yourself actually seems more intelligent. And if you look at history, you will see a lot of very large examples of highly intelligent people who did great things but also did great things wrong and should have realized they were wrong sooner when they could have done things greater.

Emotions and Psychology in Athletics/Fitness (and Injuries)
Two weeks ago I sprained my ankle doing parkour, which was very painful, and set me back in my practice of it. It has been a rough experience mentally over these past 2 weeks since doing my parkour workouts has really been a large part of my lifestyle, and my personal identity. I has really made me realize just how much being an athlete is mental as well as physical, which is one of the reasons I chose parkour as my new sport in the first place. But I had not realized just how much emotion played into these things, as sometimes your mind and sense of self esteem is really put to the test in athletics, when facing failure and injury.

Many people have lives that they are not happy with and want to change. And yet when they do something to try to change their life and it doesn’t happen, they wonder why. Why, having done whatever it is that they did to effectuate this change, have they not experienced a total transformation into the lifestyle that they want?

Many people who are lacking in the success they want to have are in this place because of their lack of connections, and having a limited social circle and business network, both in quantity and quality.
It is no secret anymore that success is not about what you do, but who you know. After all, when a big business owner is choosing executives and board members for his or her company, do you think they accept applications for these positions? Or go with people they know?

A lot of people wonder what I mean exactly when I use the phrase “Self Actualization”. And a lot of people who come into personal development wonder “Shouldn’t I just accept myself the way I am?” and other such things.

“DON’T ACT LIKE SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT, JUST BE YOURSELF!”
I hear a lot of people spouting off this new age aphorism “Just be yourself” and “Don’t try to be something your not”….

I hear a lot of people complaining about not having what it takes to succeed. Not having enough money, or opportunity, or resources, or circumstances, etc. Which may be somewhat true. Maybe they weren’t born into a family that had old money. Maybe they do not live in New York City where there are the most different types of jobs. Maybe they have problems that hinder them in certain ways…

There is only one thing in life that we can be certain of. And that is that it is full of problems. If you have been alive for more than a decade then you know that. It doesn’t matter how privileged you are, or how awesome you are, you are going to have problems in your life.

Constantly in my work with people I will hear them saying things like “I cant do this/that”, “I can’t change”, “I just don’t think it will work”, “That’s just who/how I am”, “This is just the way I’m wired”, “You can’t change who you are”, and so on and so forth.

Understanding The 6 Aspects Of Suffering
And How To End It
Many people turn to self help because of the fact that their lives are not what they want it to be…and they are oftentimes experiencing some form of suffering. In fact this is the reason why Buddhism is one of the most popular and prosperous religions today (not that this is going to be a religious article). The truth is that suffering is a huge part of life, and is something that everyone has to deal with at some time or another. And (not) ironically it is something that motivates people to want to try to better themselves (so that they can put an end to their suffering).

I have noticed over time that there are distinct differences in the mindset and my entire set of lifestyle practices (be it in business, socializing, or conducting my personal affairs such as learning or just living) that I had at times which were characterized by either struggle or success, and I have noticed the same elements in my clients and the other people I have worked with over the course of my life and career. And so for your benefit I have composed a list of these 15 factors that indicate paradigms of either success or struggle. Hopefully you will notice some of the ways in which you have been falling into the “struggle” paradigm and this will help you to shift your paradigm over to a Success based paradigm so that you can start living the life of your dreams!
